Welcome to the official website of Bloodlines Foundation (the “Website”), owned and operated by Bloodlines Foundation, a non-profit organisation registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria under Registration Number 8958233 with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

By accessing or using this Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you” or “user”) and Bloodlines Foundation (“Bloodlines,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version here. Continued use of the Website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Use of the Website

You may use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Nigerian laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, and the National Blood Transfusion Service guidelines.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Website in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, or local laws.
  • Submit false or misleading donor information, health declarations, or payment details.
  • Interfere with blood donation scheduling systems or emergency alert mechanisms.
  • Impersonate Bloodlines Foundation, LSBTS, NBTS, or any staff member.
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any code of a destructive nature.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to donor databases or payment gateways.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register as a blood donor or make financial donations without parental consent. Users between 13 and 18 may browse the Website but require parental consent for any personal data submission.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website (text, graphics, logos, donor testimonials, campaign photos, videos, and software) is owned by Bloodlines Foundation or licensed to us and is protected by the Copyright Act 2022 (Nigeria) and international treaties.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to view and use the content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

5. Donor Registration & User Contributions

By registering as a donor or submitting photos, stories, or testimonials:

  • You grant Bloodlines Foundation an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, publish, and distribute your content for awareness, fundraising, and reporting to LSBTS/NBTS.
  • You warrant that all information (blood group, genotype, health status) is true and accurate.
  • You consent to emergency contact by hospitals via phone/SMS/WhatsApp in life-threatening situations.

6. Donations & Payments

  • Financial donations are processed via Paystack, Flutterwave, or Interswitch (all licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria).
  • All monetary donations are final and non-refundable except where required by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
  • Bloodlines Foundation is CAC-registered; donations may qualify for tax relief under the Companies Income Tax Act (CITA) where applicable. Official receipts will be issued.

7. Third-Party Links

The Website may link to LSBTS, NBTS, Paystack, or WhatsApp broadcast channels. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE WEBSITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Bloodlines Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bloodlines Foundation, its directors, staff, volunteers, and partners (including LSBTS) from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms or submission of false donor information.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Website or donor database at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms the blood donation ecosystem.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively by the courts in Lagos State, Nigeria. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of these courts.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

14. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations due to causes beyond our control, including network failures, power outages, or government restrictions.
