Join the Future of Blood Donation.

A tech-enabled, community-powered network that connects people who need blood with those who can give it — quickly, freely, safely.

OUR STORY

We Are BloodLines

In August 2023, Nigeria was shaken by the loss of Dr. Vwaere Diaso, a young doctor whose life was cut short when a hospital elevator malfunctioned.

She survived the fall, but not the hours that followed. When rescue finally came, there was no blood available for the transfusion she desperately needed. Her death broke hearts across the nation.

A doctor, someone who had sworn to save others, died waiting for help that should have been within reach…

OUR SOLUTION

Solving The Blood Donation Problem

We’re building a system, structure, and culture around voluntary blood donation so that everyday people – like you and me – can regularly give blood freely, safely and quickly, so no one has to die begging or waiting for blood.

And we’re taking two structural approaches:

THE COMMUNITY SOLUTION

Building The Bloodlines Network

BloodLines is bringing together donors, medical professionals, blood banks and everyone else into one connected ecosystem that keeps the supply flowing.

Donors

Everyday people like you and me who give blood to save lives. They can register, receive alerts, and track their life-saving impact through our app.

Blood Bank

Partners who ensure safe, tested blood is stored, separated, and supplied promptly. They share real-time data on inventory and shortages, helping direct donors where they’re most needed.

Bridgers

Professionals within the hospital systems who raise alerts when patients need blood. They are the lifeline between hospitals and the BloodLines network, ensuring no time is wasted when emergencies happen.

Pulse Leaders

The heartbeat of our movement – volunteers who lead awareness in schools, NYSC camps, workplaces, and faith centers. They organize drives, educate others, and make blood donation relatable and fun.

THE TECH SOLUTION

The Bloodlines Web & Mobile App

Soon, donating blood will be easier than ever. Our upcoming web and mobile app will connect donors with recipients in real-time, making life-saving donations just a tap away.

TESTIMONIALS

Bloodliners' Spotlight

Blood donation is one of the most impactful acts of humanity. Every pint of blood donated has the potential to save up to three lives. Over the years, I have witnessed stories of hope restored and families reunited with their loved ones because someone chose to donate blood. Being part of this life-saving mission has been one of the most fulfilling commitments of my life. It has shown me that ordinary individuals, when united by compassion, can achieve extraordinary results.

My blood donation journey began after I experienced the harsh reality of the blood banking system in Nigeria. I saw firsthand what it means to desperately need blood and not get it. There was no blood compatible with her type not even a universal donor unit. I had to donate the blood myself and cross-match it on the spot and despite that effort, we still lost both the pregnant woman and her baby. That tragedy left a mark on me, but it also birthed a resolve: I would donate yearly. I know I cannot solely solve the challenge of blood scarcity in the country, but I can do my part. It’s been 3 years and counting! And there is a deep sense of fulfillment I feel at every donation appointment. It’s unmatched!

I’ve donated blood 14 times, and each experience has taught me something about humanity, compassion, and responsibility. For me, blood donation isn’t just an act of kindness. It’s a commitment to showing up for people in their most vulnerable moments. I’ve seen how a single unit of blood can change the course of a story, turning fear into relief for families who desperately need hope. Donating has deepened my belief that ordinary people can make extraordinary impact through simple actions. Every time I give, I’m reminded that saving lives doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it just requires showing up.
